By using Keep Docs, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Access or Collect

Keep Docs is designed to collect and process only the information necessary to provide its features.

Depending on the features you use, the application may access or process the following categories of information.

2.1 Google Account Information

When you choose to sign in with Google, Keep Docs may receive basic account information provided by Google's sign-in service, such as:

  • Google account email address

  • Account identifier required to maintain your signed-in session

  • Basic account information made available through Google Sign-In

Keep Docs uses this information to authenticate your account and associate your Keep Docs cloud backup with your account.

Keep Docs does not request or store your Google account password.

3. Google Drive App Data

If you enable or use Google Drive backup and synchronization, Keep Docs uses Google's Drive API to store and retrieve Keep Docs application backup data.

Keep Docs uses Google's restricted Drive app data (drive.appdata) scope for its application-specific cloud backup.

This storage location is intended for application-specific data and is separate from the user's normal visible Google Drive files.

Keep Docs may store application backup data such as:

  • Document files created or imported through Keep Docs

  • Folder information

  • Document metadata

  • Synchronization information

  • Backup and restore information required by Keep Docs

Keep Docs does not use the Google Drive permission to browse or manage unrelated files in your personal Google Drive.

The Google Drive API provides an isolated appDataFolder space for application-specific data.

4. Documents, Images, and Files

Keep Docs allows you to scan, import, save, organize, preview, share, and manage documents.

Documents and images that you intentionally add to Keep Docs may be stored locally on your device.

Depending on the feature you use, Keep Docs may process:

  • Scanned documents

  • Images

  • PDFs

  • ID card scans

  • Document names

  • Folder names

  • Document type information

  • File size and timestamps

  • Favorites and organization information

These files are processed to provide document scanning, viewing, organization, search, backup, synchronization, export, and sharing features.

Your document content is not collected for advertising purposes.

5. Camera Access

Keep Docs may request camera access when you choose to scan or capture a document.

Camera access is used only to provide scanning and document capture functionality.

Keep Docs does not continuously monitor or record the camera in the background.

Camera access is not required when you are not using a camera-based scanning feature.

6. Document Scanner and Image Processing

When you use the document scanning functionality, Keep Docs may process images captured by the camera or images selected by you in order to:

  • Detect document boundaries

  • Crop documents

  • Enhance document appearance

  • Create scanned document files

  • Convert scanned pages into PDF or image formats

  • Display document previews

Document processing is performed for the purpose of providing the requested document functionality.

7. Google Mobile Ads

Keep Docs uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements.

Advertising services may process certain device, advertising, and usage information as required by Google's advertising technology, including information necessary to deliver, measure, prevent abuse of, and improve advertising.

Depending on applicable settings, consent, and regional requirements, advertising-related information may include:

  • Advertising identifier or other resettable advertising identifiers

  • Device and app information

  • Approximate location or other information used by advertising services

  • Ad interaction information

  • Diagnostic and performance information

Keep Docs does not sell your documents, scanned images, PDFs, or document contents to advertisers.

Keep Docs does not use the contents of your documents for personalized advertising.

Google may process information according to Google's own privacy policies and applicable advertising settings.

8. Save, Export, and Share Features

Keep Docs provides features that allow you to save or share documents.

When you explicitly choose to share a document, Keep Docs creates the required file or content and passes it to the Android system sharing interface or the application you choose.

When you choose to save a document to your device, Keep Docs uses Android's system file picker to let you select the destination.

Sharing or saving is initiated by the user.

Keep Docs does not automatically send your documents to third-party applications without your action.

Once you choose another application to receive or store a shared document, that application's own privacy policy and data practices apply.

9. App Lock and Biometric Security

Keep Docs provides optional App Lock and biometric/device-credential protection.

When enabled, Keep Docs may use Android's biometric and device security framework to verify that the device owner is authorized to access the application.

Keep Docs does not receive or store your:

  • Fingerprint

  • Face biometric data

  • Device PIN

  • Device password

  • Device unlock pattern

Biometric authentication is handled by the Android operating system and supported Android security components.

Keep Docs receives only the authentication result required to determine whether access should be granted.

10. Local Storage

Documents and application information may be stored in Keep Docs' private application storage on your device.

Local storage may contain:

  • Documents

  • Images

  • PDFs

  • Thumbnails

  • Folder information

  • Application preferences

  • Synchronization information

  • Security preferences

Keep Docs uses these files and information to provide its core functionality.

Application-private files are not intended to be publicly accessible by other applications.

11. Data Synchronization

If automatic synchronization is enabled, Keep Docs may synchronize your Keep Docs data with your Google Drive application-specific storage.

You may control synchronization through the settings available in the application.

The application provides settings related to:

  • Automatic synchronization

  • Synchronization over Wi-Fi

  • Google Drive backup

If synchronization is disabled, Keep Docs will not perform automatic synchronization according to the disabled setting, although actions explicitly requested by you may still require network access.

12. Data Security

Keep Docs takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the application.

These measures may include:

  • Android application-private storage

  • Secure authentication through Google Sign-In

  • OAuth-based authorization

  • Secure HTTPS/TLS communication with supported online services

  • Android system security mechanisms

  • Optional App Lock and biometric/device-credential authentication

  • Temporary file handling for sharing and export operations

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Therefore, while we take reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Data Sharing

Keep Docs does not sell your personal information or document content.

Information may be processed or shared with service providers and platforms only when necessary to provide application functionality, including:

Google

Google services may process information when you use:

  • Google Sign-In

  • Google Drive backup and synchronization

  • Google Mobile Ads

Android / Device Services

Android system services may process information when you use:

  • Camera

  • System file picker

  • Android sharing interface

  • Biometric/device authentication

Applications You Choose to Share With

When you explicitly use the Share feature and select another application, the selected application may receive the document you chose to share.

Keep Docs does not control the privacy practices of third-party applications that you choose to use.

14. Children's Privacy

Keep Docs is not specifically designed as a child-directed application.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for purposes unrelated to the application's functionality.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in a manner that violates applicable law, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

15. Data Retention

Keep Docs retains information only for as long as necessary to provide the requested application functionality or as required by applicable law.

Local documents remain on your device until you delete them or remove the application data.

If Google Drive synchronization is enabled, synchronized application data may remain in the Keep Docs application-specific Google Drive storage until you delete it through Keep Docs or otherwise remove the application's stored data where applicable.

Information required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes may be retained for the period required by applicable law.

16. Deleting Documents

Keep Docs provides functionality to delete documents.

Documents moved to Trash may remain recoverable through the application's Trash functionality until they are permanently deleted according to the application's available controls.

Deleting a local document does not necessarily mean that every copy stored through an external service is immediately removed unless the relevant cloud synchronization or deletion operation is completed.

17. Delete All Data

Keep Docs provides a Delete All Data functionality for users who want to remove their Keep Docs data.

When you confirm this operation, Keep Docs is designed to remove your Keep Docs application data from the device and, when applicable, remove Keep Docs cloud backup data from the application's Google Drive app data storage before completing the local cleanup.

The operation may include deletion of:

  • Local documents

  • Local folders

  • Local thumbnails and application files

  • Local application database records

  • Keep Docs synchronization information

  • Keep Docs Google Drive application backup data

  • Keep Docs Google Drive synchronization metadata

After the deletion process is successfully completed, Keep Docs signs the user out and returns the application to its initial state.

Because this operation is intended to permanently remove Keep Docs data, users should ensure that they have saved any documents they wish to keep before confirming deletion.

18. Account Deletion and Data Deletion Requests

Keep Docs provides an in-app mechanism for users to delete their Keep Docs data through the Delete All Data functionality.

If you request deletion of your Keep Docs account and associated application data, we will take reasonable steps to delete the associated Keep Docs data under our control, subject to technical limitations and applicable legal requirements.

If an account deletion request requires additional assistance, you may contact us using the privacy contact information provided in this policy.

When deletion is successfully completed, data associated with the Keep Docs account and application storage is intended to be permanently removed, except information that we are legally required or permitted to retain.

19. What Happens When You Sign Out

Signing out of Keep Docs does not necessarily mean that locally stored documents are deleted.

Users who want to permanently remove Keep Docs data should use the application's Delete All Data feature rather than simply signing out.

This distinction helps prevent accidental loss of documents while still providing users with a permanent deletion mechanism.

20. Offline Use

Many Keep Docs features can operate locally without an internet connection.

Network access may be required for:

  • Google Sign-In

  • Google Drive synchronization

  • Cloud backup and restore

  • Advertisement loading

  • Other online services

Keep Docs does not intentionally delete local user documents merely because an internet connection is unavailable.

21. Third-Party Services

Keep Docs uses third-party services and libraries to provide certain features.

These may include:

  • Google Sign-In

  • Google Drive API

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)

  • Android and AndroidX system components

  • Google document scanning and image-processing components, where applicable

Third-party services may process information according to their own policies and applicable laws.

Users should review the privacy policies of third-party service providers for additional information about their practices.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Keep Docs' features, services, data practices, or legal requirements change.

When changes are made, the updated version will be published at the publicly available Privacy Policy location.

The "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this policy will also be updated when appropriate.

Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

23. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include rights to:

  • Request access to information associated with your account

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of applicable personal information

  • Withdraw certain permissions or consent where applicable

  • Ask questions about how your information is processed

To exercise applicable rights or ask privacy-related questions, contact us using the privacy contact information provided above.
